By working closely with local governments, community organizations, women, marginalized groups, young people and other stakeholders, we seek to ensure that recovery priorities are shaped by those most affected and that resources are delivered transparently, equitably, and accountably.

Our Relief Efforts

Some critical needs simply cannot wait. In the aftermath of the August 26th flood, LocalWorks partnered with Raiya Nepal to deliver most needed relief support to flood affected communities in Gajuri, Dhading and Devighat, Nuwakot, mobilizing funds from individual and organizational donors. As identified by the affected communities in the remote parts, we provided 60+ weather-proof tents, each accommodating 4–5 people.

We are collecting donations to buy bedding materials and critical items as immediate support. Our partners on the ground are identifying additional groups that are left behind and assessing their needs for further support. In the meantime, we are raising funds from organizational and individual donors to be able to deliver support to more groups.

LocalWorks Joins Hands to Support Flood-Affected Households in Devighat

In the aftermath of devastating glacial floods that have affected thousands of people across Nepal, every act of support matters.

On September 8, 2026, LocalWorks Foundation joined hands with Nepal Magar Mahila Samaj and Himalayan Trail Finder to provide urgent relief support to 50 flood-affected households benefitting 275 individuals, including 133 women, in Devighat, Nuwakot district.

Relief packages included weather-proof tents accommodating 4–5 people in each, mattresses, clothing, towels, and essential hygiene supplies to support families facing immediate challenges.

Once a bustling riverside hub, Devighat now bears the scars of a devastating glacial lake outburst flood, where homes, livelihoods, and memories were swept away, leaving behind rocks, sand, and silence.

Dhunge, Nuwakot

The flash flood transformed vibrant Dhunge into a landscape of destruction. What was once full of life now stands deserted, covered by debris and reshaped by the force of nature.

Trishuli Bazar, Nuwakot

A thriving marketplace reduced to ruins. The recent flood erased familiar landmarks, leaving Trishuli Bazar facing one of the most destructive disasters in its history.
